Choose a quiet moment

After a walk or during a break at home, choose a place where you can stay with your dog. A treat does not need to become a big event: your attention is part of the moment, too.

Stay close, observe and adapt

Always supervise consumption. Size, texture and chewing habits matter: the same treat is not suitable for every dog. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian for advice based on their age, health and habits.

More is not the point

Count all the treats your dog receives throughout the day, including those offered by other people. Keep complete food as the foundation of their diet. The WSAVA guide explains why treats should remain a small part of it.
